Should those responsible for releasing names of secret operatives be punished?

When an operative, whether they be CIA, FBI, or military special forces is released to the press or the public, should those responsible be held accountable.

When the president revealed the identity of the seal team responsible for killing Bin Laden, shouldn't he be held to the same rules that others, especially those in the military are?

I ran across an article today in the Washington Post that said the White House had "Accidentally" released the name of the top CIA operative in Afghanistan.

Accident? Hypothetically, if someone in the Military that had access to such information accidentally released the name because they were running on an hours sleep in three days and did not catch the err, they would be brought up on charges of treason.

I would like to say yes, and they would be if they were JR enough, the issue is our system is set up to make it difficult to punish those at the top and that is where the mistakes are made.

There are rules in place so that they can be ignored by those in power politically, this it how it has always been. Do as I say, not as I do.
