A young man boards the bus and immediately leans against the door. With the motion sensor active for twenty minutes the alarm goes off saying &quot; Please step away from the door&quot; The other passengers yell at the young man. I intercede and ask the young man to step away from the door. No response. In that moment, I felt disrespected but I also felt that this was a moment that I can learn from if he refused to. I calmly walked back to my seat, put in my earbuds and left it at that. One of the many things I am grateful for with my military experience is the ability to fight for what&#39;s right and when to allow someone to make a complete fool of themselves. In this volatile world, you cannot control everyone but you do have responsibility to be in control of yourself. When I exited the bus, that young man held the door for me. Perhaps, the young are not as immature as we think. Should they require civics and competency in volunteering as a critical component in high school education? 2019-04-29T18:14:48-04:00 A1C Ian Williams 4590769 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had an interesting &quot;city&quot; encounter today.
