Should there be an overhaul of the dated wheel-chair version handicapped marker? If you to redesign this marker, what would your idea be?

Last year, there was an update to handicapped/disabled markers in many areas, but with the evolution of what's categorized as 'Handicap' or 'Disabled' (not just those bound to wheelchairs), should there be an overhaul of the dated wheel-chair version marker?

If you were to redesign this marker, what would your idea be?

Are we so sensitive in this era that we let signs hurt us. I use a walker to get everywhere, occasionally a wheelchair. I am just appreciative that businesses have parking spots that make it easier for me and others like me. Whether it's a wheelchair or just the sign that says handicap access I personally don't care.

I don't feel there should be a difference between the two. I do however, feel that are issued a sticker or license plate. You should be issued two stickers with your license plate number on it, one for your windshield and one for your back glass. Or if you are issued a license plate. You should also be issued a sticker with your license plate number on it for those states that do not issue two plates. The sticker is for the windshield. Why? Because I live in NC, I don't know about the rest of the Country. But here there are a lot of people, especially on the East Coast, that back their car in a Handicap parking space. Because they know that most law enforcement agencies will not get out of their vehicles to see if they have or have not got handicap license plates. And they get away with it. And if you call it in, it's a very low priority. So by the time law enforcement arrives they are gone.

I think it would be a huge waste of government resources to do this.

What needs addressing, imho, are states that have DV plates that require 100% disability, but don't include the parking logo on the plate, such as Washington, where I live.

The cost to make these would be nil, since they use laser printed plastic overlays onto plates now, rather than stamping or some other process, so it's no work to add the logo...
