Medián, one of Hungary’s top polling firms, published the results of a comprehensive and startling study into the scope and nature of antisemitism in Hungary. The poll shows a significant rise in antisemitism, with the number of Hungarians who are seen as “rejecting” Jews on a purely “emotional” level increasing from 9% in 2003 to 23% in 2014.

While the Magyar Gárda Mozgalom (Hungarian Guard Movement) has been banned the Jobbik party is without question a concern for the EU. Béla Kovács and the Russian influence on the progressively more radical party is something that should indeed be examined and investigated by the Hungarian government and the US intelligence community. For the US beyond the anti-Semitic rhetoric embraced by Jobbik, the greater concern is the ever widening of the Russian sphere of interest in EU political parties. What is more troubling is how easily foreign financial support transverses the international borders. Some countries, like Estonia, have passed laws making it illegal for political parties to accept such contributions but with clever three card Monte like maneuvering tracing such funds can be mitigated if not made impossible. One needs to remember that Hitler's funding in many ways came in part by foreign US industrialists. I.G. Farben, the company that became the German war machine's key component, was under the control of Rockefeller's Standard Oil at the time it funded 45 percent of Hitler's election campaign in 1930. Much is to be said how many obfusticated the truth about in how the west supported Hilter. As well where there is large scale investment there is always an agenda - political and or financial.
