Should the U.S military stop using Native American names for aircraft and missles?

First the Redskins, now the military's preference for Native American based names for missiles, rotary-wing aircraft and missions is coming under fire.

What are your thoughts?
Is it disrespectful gloating or a sign of respect?

The U.S. military’s ongoing slur of Native Americans

Calling our helicopters Apache and our missiles Tomahawk is just as offensive.

I believe it is a dedication to the tribes after America when it was expanding in the first 200 years really destroyed much of the culture. It is a sign of respect to honor what was lost and need to continue on. We can no fix the past only learn from it.

The names are all real names not slang or nicknames or racial slurs so I see nothing wrong with using them.
