Should the Coast Guard create a badge for members who served on the RAID Team in Afghanistan?

The Coast Guard Redeployment Assistance and Inspection Detachment Team (RAID) is distinct. The job was created in 2003 by the Department of Defense to ensure hazardous materials are properly prepared for shipment and re-entry into U.S. ports as part of the military redeployment process. One of the Coast Guard’s many responsibilities includes port security, so when a container comes through with the seal of approval from the Coast Guard, the cargo is less likely to get stopped.

I was an OIC for a LEDET during Desert Storm (1991). These guys know their job and deserve recognition.

Most definitely should! Being a member of a PSU. No one knows what other jobs the CG is involved with. When you try to explain to someone and they say "I didn't think the CG went oconus!" How embarrassing is that? its easier just giving a short description and leaving it at that. We should be recognized for the collateral duties we perform.
