Members of the reserves or National Guard are not eligible unless they have been on active duty. Should the Army make an exception for being buried at Arlington National Cemetery? 2015-05-30T19:24:18-04:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 708960 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Most active duty or retired military members of military service are eligible for in-ground interment at Arlington. There are numerous Veterans cemetaries around the nation, infact each state has at least one. If burial in Arlington is a desire then the requirement should be met, in this case service in the Active Duty component.
