The whole reason that I was told that we went to ASUs and got rid of the greens was to save the Soldiers money. Yet they were proposing to have three combat uniforms (garrison, desert, and forest). Obviously someone somewhere is giving off mixed signals. Also, with only one uniform you have little to no variation of formality. For males you switch the tie you wear and females and switch from pants to dress. With the greens and blues we had "suit" and "tux" type differences.<br /><br />Will we go back in the future? Hmmm. Keep it as is. Need to stop switching around since it is costing Soldiers more and more money to maintain different uniforms.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 27 at 2014 2:07 AM2014-07-27T02:07:25-04:002014-07-27T02:07:25-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member187274<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've seen some varying variants for the ASUs/Blues. Traditional? Yup. Sharp? You bet. But a bit too fancy for a service uniform. And the B's make us look like mall cops.<br /><br />If I had my druthers, the ASU would revert back to a dress uniform for formal ceremonies and evening wear, and we would re-adopt the khaki "Pink and greens" (or variants thereof) from WW2 as our service uniform.Response by LTC Paul Labrador made Jul 27 at 2014 3:27 AM2014-07-27T03:27:22-04:002014-07-27T03:27:22-04:00SGT Frank Leonardo187569<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was in we had summer and winter uniforms. Then we had had 1 dress uniform blues were your choice to buy. When I was getting out of the Army they were going to the digital uniform which i am not a big fan of but I don't have to deal with it due to being out of the service. Also I liked to press and starch my uniform and shine my boots all of that is also out of the window. Personally that self pride and unit pride which seems to have left the service in all Braches which soldiers cant control sucks.Response by SGT Frank Leonardo made Jul 27 at 2014 3:15 PM2014-07-27T15:15:55-04:002014-07-27T15:15:55-04:00SPC Casey Ashfield2195776<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I preferred to have just the dress greens and was very reluctant to change to the dress blues/ASU. To many uniforms my opinion need it simple an cost effective. Want to keep blues make them a officer uniform way to expensive for enlisted to maintain I wore my blues once to the local Army Ball celebration and put $600. to do so. I say one for daily work and one dress that is all and pt.Response by SFC Robert Walton made Sep 21 at 2018 9:44 AM2018-09-21T09:44:56-04:002018-09-21T09:44:56-04:002014-07-27T01:46:40-04:00
