That, however, will not make any difference to the "anti-voter ID" folks whose primary reason for not requiring ID is to ensure continued voter fraud to get their liberal candidates elected. Nobody should be allowed to vote without proof of voter registration and proof of identity. There is simply no valid reason to not require ID.Response by COL Jean (John) F. By all accounts, we have a lot of aliens residing in the United States, many undocumented/unregistered. Many with agendas inimical to the vital interests of the country. Without IDs that prove citizenship, we are allowing them to interfere in the expression of the will of We the People. Sadly, we don't have a trustworthy form of identification. California, for example, is handing out valid drivers licenses to illegal aliens like condoms at a whorehouse. Illegal aliens also have bank accounts and rent residences and can produce valid utility bills and bank accounts. Thus, it's not a matter of "if" but rather of "how".Response by CPT Jack Durish made Mar 2 at 2016 11:20 AM2016-03-02T11:20:07-05:002016-03-02T11:20:07-05:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member1347187<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>NC has a voter ID law and issues free IDs through the DMV.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 2 at 2016 11:25 AM2016-03-02T11:25:59-05:002016-03-02T11:25:59-05:00SSG Ed Mikus1347191<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>In our world a valid ID is a necessity, therefore i feel every resident should be provided a free ID around age 10. That being said, that FREE ID should do no more than prove your identity, if you want to upgrade to a Drivers License, Passport, or other then you must pay the normal fee, if you need a new one more often than is considered normal you should be required to pay a small fee.Response by SSG Ed Mikus made Mar 2 at 2016 11:26 AM2016-03-02T11:26:21-05:002016-03-02T11:26:21-05:00Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS1347287<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Virginia already issues Free ID if the Resident does not possess a Driver's License of State Issued ID.<br /><br />The issue with the Right to Vote and ID is that Voting is done by "District" therefore we must "track" Residence Location. <br /><br />There are two "good" arguments for why requiring ID is bad.<br /><br />1) Cost. Issuing ID cost money. If you make them free, or let someone use an ID they have already paid for, that argument goes away.<br /><br />2) Age "may" preclude possession of documents which prove identity. However... if anyone has ever lost their wallet, and had to replace EVERYTHING, you can usually have someone vouch for your identity, providing you know all the other pertinent information (like DoB, Mother's Maiden Name, SSN, etc). The question is whether this procedure is overly restrictive or not is really the debate, not whether the ID is actually available.<br /><br />That said, I'm opposed to a National ID card. We don't need one. However, any Citizen/Resident that wants to exist in "modern society" needs to have some form of ID. The argument that it shouldn't be required to vote (prove voting district) is flawed and disingenuous.Response by Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS made Mar 2 at 2016 11:45 AM2016-03-02T11:45:48-05:002016-03-02T11:45:48-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member1347403<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I must live in a sheltered world in the US, as I've never met anyone over the age of 21 that did not either have a state ID or drivers license.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 2 at 2016 12:18 PM2016-03-02T12:18:59-05:002016-03-02T12:18:59-05:00PFC Stephen Eric Serati1347865<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes,Response by PFC Stephen Eric Serati made Mar 2 at 2016 2:08 PM2016-03-02T14:08:01-05:002016-03-02T14:08:01-05:00Lt Col Private RallyPoint Member1348305<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What is the controversy about ID cards? you need one for multiple purposes.
