Or even just Wtfmoments. Easy to see what you're getting in to.

Go Drill. Shorter time, keep on the Army training, and it's darn near universally respected by soldiers. Sorry didn't mean to yell, but it shouldn't be a hard decision. Do you wanna sit behind a desk for 3 years being talked down to because you cant force kids to remain committed to there enlistment, or do you wanna impact your corp at the lowest level and train your future Soldiers? Yes drill is rough, yes you work long hours sometimes, and yes you don't make as much as recruiters do, but I can almost guarantee you will make SFC on your first look if you have NCOER's reflecting successful drill sergeant time. Plus, if you go to FLW all your MOS based schools are there, and most units will allow you to attend NCOES towards the end of your trail time. At least you don't have to stress about numbers - just other worries. But you are out and about every day. Drill Sergeant is much more rewarding because you get to see the finished product. It may seem like its all fun and games but it is a 24/7 job for 2 to 3 years and your failures or successes affect the Army and your Soldiers for a long time to come. I got selected for both. I did recruiting first (as a newlywed no less). The reason I say this is when you're younger it doesn't take nearly as long to recover from physical pain. And, as an NCO, you already do now how to train soldiers. Get your feet wet so to speak with something you're already familiar with. That being said, recruiting is not a joke. I had to claw for everything I got. It may have changed somewhat since I was out there, but if there is any one piece of advice I can give, watch/cover your ass. When I got ready to clear and go back to the line, my S-1 remarked, "You can't go anywhere, I don't have your relief for cause!" I had to tell her I was PCSing and hadn't been busted. No shit. Recruiting duty sucked! Also, unless you have a cord shooting out your ass or a battery attached to it, stop using “Drill”. It’s a bad habit that will be rectified in Drill Sergeant School.
