Should I go for an IG complaint for my unit failing to update info in my promotion packet? What other ways can I solve the issue?

Ok sergeants i need some help rightnow, i found out that the reason i did not get promoted for almost 1 year is that my unit fail to update info in my promotion packet, whats the best way to solve the issue?
In the pprl was never updated from wlc or blc to alc, almost every drill i ask to the s1 sargeant to upload the miles to 800 because there where at 50, and there where not units that close to my home of record address. My srb keeps resetting to blank.

Negative, we have a sfc as active 1st sergeant, that kinda refrain me. I was waiting for new one. I let know my new plt sergeant;

If you think anyone will do anything for you, you're gonna have a bad time. Ensuring your records are updated is your responsibility. Everything on the ERB is your responsibility to ensure it is correct.
So your way forward- when possible, schedule an appt with your S1 and watch as they update your records to ensure it is getting done and accurately. If they will not let you sit then turn in the paperwork.
Anytime you turn paperwork into anyone, use a da 200. The DA 200 is a transmittal slip, it is like a hand receipt for paperwork. Give them a couple days to get the work done and check your ERB. If it's not done, go back with your transmittal slip and enquire as to the status of your records update. If they take their time, get your psg involved.

You right about that, im not saying i dint fo my part, about my erb i had updated it more than 5 times in last 12 months, just went go home and check feew weeks later is blank. I even ask s1 how is that posible? Who alse can do that changes? He said anyone with the rights to doit within the company or higher.

Open Door Policy with COC and NCOSC first, then IG. If COC can't influence the correction, IG.

Definitely start with an open door policy. Lots of info for this is missing though that could have influenced the problem. It sounds like you are a reservist. When you are talking to S1 are they AGR or TPU? Should you be working with a UA or do you have an RPAC. The Reserve HR system is pretty broke. You can also get the your readiness division promotion branch number and email from their SharePoint site and contact them directly although I recommend you have a platoon or 1sg do that. You can send your updates directly to them.

If you are an Army Reservist your S-1/HR Sgt/ARA/RPAC are responsible for making updates to your ARB (Automated Record Brief).

The ERB is gone and your IPPS-A SRB has not launched properly so don't use it.
It's the Soldier's responsibility to view and validate their ARB annually and you HR rep's responsibility to certify it.
Without the validation and certification the promotion selection board can't see your updates.

Your mileage increase request can be submitted to your Readiness Division by you, from your .mil account but you'll want to link in your HR rep and FLL.

An IG complaint may get your information updated, but it won't get your promotion back dated. As I understood the reg the last time I read it, even if there is an error in failing to update points, even if the SM is not at fault, promotions can't be updated. You simply have to resubmit and wait.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I found myself in a very similar situation. My current unit doesn’t have access to update my SRB and when the board approached, I had to find an RD (Readiness Division) to support me.

Long story short, my unit DOES have access to DTMS and HT/WT. Some how my SRB and all supporting documents were up to date but I wasn’t considered by the board. When I reached out to the board POC, he told me because my HT/WT was not up to date. I went back to my unit to figure out what happened and they showed me the DTMS system which reflected my current HT/WT data and the date of the update.

I took a screenshot, sent it up to the POC with a memo requesting a Standby Advisory Board (STAB) and my request was approved based on the evidence that, to no fault of my own, my records were not considered.

I was considered, selected and promoted by the STAB (held at the next regular promotion board) and back paid to the date of rank for the promotion of the original board date that I missed due to that administrative error.

I say that to say this, if you have records of your efforts(emails may suffice), request a STAB once you get everything updated properly.

In the future, DA 200s are a good way to keep people who handle paper work honest and have a record of transactions.
