WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Army veteran Tracy Worwood was charged with reckless endangerment when police found a live AT-4 anti-tank round on his roof. DUH!

During a visit in November, Worwood’s underage son found the rocket and took a photo of it. After his son found the round, Worwood moved it to the roof for safekeeping. When the boy’s mother saw the picture, she reported it to the FBI, which prompted the police investigation.

It doesn't look like he stole "live" ord, but took home a "dud" (fired but not exploded). He made a stupid decision, but based on previous history (OTH Discharge, after 10 years of Service...) this was one of many.

So in response to your question Sir, COL Mikel J. Burroughs he wasn't thinking. He likely had a predisposition of not thinking.

Questions need to be posed to his chain of command, as to how the hand receipt cleared. Even a dud needs to be turned in. Also how did he clear customs. As an SMCI previously assigned to 42nd MP Gp, that would not have been allowed to be brought back in his personal property.

We all like Memorabilia, 5'54 round casings cut down for ash trays or used full length with a Wooden Warhead replacing the actual one but you kinda have to draw the line somewhere. I think a live Anti-Tank Round is a problem and should be dealt with accordingly.

Again more American history in schools would help , my girl friend who hated history classes. Just asked me if anyone else ever heard of the CIVIL WAR cannon rounds that still explode at Gettysburg after a lightning strikes the tree ???
Lol not as much now days. But I can tell you at Pendelton there are areas you do not want to walk around in and never during a lightning storm

Absolutely. He illegally removed it from the armory, and it blew up in the EOD vehicle. IT could easily have injured or killed his own family or others...

I am confused as to how this thing even got off the range as being fired, but not exploded. I spent 4 years as an 11C Motorman 4.2, and when rounds are fired and there is supposed to be a boom, and there isn't, there is a lot of 4th point of contact puckering. I agree with the comment that there seems to be something wrong with the paperwork from the ASP draw, dunnage accountability, and this guy ending up with it. I mean there is a weight difference between a loaded AT4 and an empty canister after round has been fired. But, here comes another questions/observation...Kid found it, took picture, Dad moved it and put it in another location (Hhhhmmmm), and when Mom saw the picture, call authorities. How come Mom didn't know it was in the house...wasn't it a going away gift? He knew what he had, and will get two presents this year from Santa....the bill for the investigation, removal and disposal of the devise and probably a conviction.

But like someone else said, this may have some impact on a few other people as well and their careers. I see this young man practicing for his singing performance when it comes to the hard questions like....who gave it to you?

No he shouldn't be arrested, I don't think he knew it was live. I felt he was being honest there, this could happen to any of us. Thankfully nothing did happen when the boy was playing with it, but this was a one in a million scenario.
