Should a units' security officer have an "open door" policy?

I recently reached out to my unit's security officer for assistance in renewing my security clearance. And, I was told that she didn't deal "directly" with soldiers. I found that peculiar. Given the nature of counterintelligence (which, conceivably, might require reporting), I was under the impression that these shops should not turn away soldiers.

All NCO's and Officers should be open for business at whatever level they support.

this officer was wrong it is in her perview to do her job, that means reviewing and submitting applications for clearance, this is another case of pos not wanting to do their job

You would hope, You would think so. Although in the Security Field there are different kinds of Security Officers and it means a lot of different things in different contexts.

Rank? If she was an Officer, of course she turned you away. She has some Sgt/Spc assigned to her. Go to them, fill out the proper paperwork, & then she will review it. They/Officers don't just drop everything to be @ your beck & call. There are procedures.
