Nobody wants to fail, anything, helping them get to where they ought to be will help them as an individual and the unit as a whole in the long run! Response by CSM Michael J. It would be a waste of money and time when he flunks the APFT at WLC. He would be set up for failure. He needs to pass the APFT to go to the school. You don't reward failure. I've seen CDR's and CSM's promote it just for that reason alone. As a steward of the Army's money and professionals, I would not send a Soldier there to fail. I am obligated to ensure they are ready to attend, including physically. Simple as that. He failed the prerequisite test. Give that slot to someone that deserves it.
