SFC Melvin Brandenburg Thu, 21 Jan 2021 12:37:19 -0500 2021-01-21T12:37:19-05:00 https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-a-request-for-an-etp-age-waiver-by-way-of-a-congressional-be-submitted?n=6680510&urlhash=6680510 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>ETP is Exception to Policy.<br />Waiver is a request to waive a regulatory requirement.<br />Age is a waiver.<br />Waiver approval is ultimately up to each component G1.<br /><br />A legislative inquiry, much like an IG investigation, will just look into the process to see if a regulation or policy was violated.<br /><br />For example, if that component has a policy in place that states they will not consider an age waiver that is for over 5 years, but the recruiter failed to check policy before bringing that recruit in for test and interview, and only found out after getting everything ready for submission, only to be told that the waiver request does not comply with policy.<br />The recruiter has not violated reg or policy for not submitting an age waiver asking for more than 5 years, the recruiter is just caught up on policy, as they update continuously.<br /><br />If you have a valid reason to believe a reg or policy was violated in not submitting the waiver request, take it to your legislative rep&#39;s office. Enlisting is a privilege, not a right. He can inquire where it got stopped, the recruiter is just the messenger.
