Is it unlimited data? Also what kind of general advice do you have outside of it’s hot sandy and take sunscreen. Does anyone know what personal items I can take such as laptop iPhone iPad etc? Will I need power adapter/converter? I am told we will be in 2 man rooms. Just wondering what your experience was as a 15T. I will be in the Delta Maintenance company. What advice do you have for a 15T going on a short-notice deployment to Kuwait? What should I expect for internet service and electronics?2022-05-14T22:22:44-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member7677005

Can someone who has deployed in the last five years give me an idea of what Internet service providers there are and what it cost? Don’t need to blast out when you are leaving. You can take your personal devices with you. Your laptop and iPhone power plug already converts 110v to 220v. You will just need a different plug Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 14 at 2022 10:55 PM2022-05-14T22:55:48-04:002022-05-14T22:55:48-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member7677080

There are several providers for internet. If your room is hard wired for internet you can get unlimited data depending on the speed. If not most people use pucks that use cellular service. Where you live will determine what internet works where you are.

There is a decent PX on Arifjan and you will be able to get whatever you need there. Best of luck.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 14 at 2022 11:19 PM2022-05-14T23:19:09-04:002022-05-14T23:19:09-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member7677083

There are no internet providers per se. What you will need to get is a mobile hot spot...affectionately known as a PUCK over in Kuwait. The rates are pricey. You can pay for a day, a week, or 30 days. You buy the data then activate it. You can bring your personal devices. You will just need to get a power adapter when you get there as the plugs in Kuwait are different.

Just bring the basics with you since everything else you will/could need are available over there.

Oh. As Preventive Medicine, I want to tell you to LEAVE THE ANIMALS ALONE. Don't feed them. Don't pet them. Stay away from them. They are feral. Do not risk getting scratched and/or bit and possibly contract rabies that becomes 98% fatal once symptoms start showing in you.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 14 at 2022 11:19 PM2022-05-14T23:19:41-04:002022-05-14T23:19:41-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member7678033

I forget the name of the on post wifi / wired internet provider but the main cellular providers are Zane and Ooredoo.

I used the wired connection in my room and got a very high data prepaid plan for my ooredoo Sim card in my phone. Ooredoo will text you with deals. When I finally got a good one I switched to that plan. Cellular prices will be in Kuwaiti Denar (KD) probably around $3 to one KD but you can Google the exact rate.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2022 2:03 PM2022-05-15T14:03:34-04:002022-05-15T14:03:34-04:00MAJ Ken Landgren7678371

You ever heard of google? https://militarybases.com/overseas/kuwait/camp-arifjan/

Deployed as a 15T SGT in 2016-2017. [In the process of trying to figure out how to get this thing to let me update my profile now that I'm out.] If you need questions answered feel free to message.

Also, feel free to ignore the brass who decided to use snark to degrade a Soldier instead of helping. [And don't respond or react to this because you're still in and have learned in the past that people like that will go extra lengths to punish those around them.]Response by SGT K G made Jun 16 at 2022 6:27 PM2022-06-16T18:27:28-04:002022-06-16T18:27:28-04:002022-05-14T22:22:44-04:00
