I want to know what SFAB training is like ? I don’t want the answers from an SFAB recruiter or a senior NCO though , I want to what the trainees think about it pro and cons . I want to know what the qualification course is , what are the toughest areas to pass during the qualification course , and then what Daily life is like afterwards. The only reason I haven’t done SFAb is because of the lack of knowledge on the training spectrum, what should I work on prior to becoming SFAb etc …… ?

The training hasn’t changed much since I was in as a SGT, shortly after I was promoted to SSG. The assessment and selection course was pretty easy if you’re in decent shape and a team player. The training itself to become an Advisor was fun. There was a lot of MDMP, medical, and doctrinal training. Once I was on a team it was complete culture shock, as a 91B all I knew was working in a motor pool. We did a lot of training on map reading, CONOP building, mission planning, and getting familiar with our kit and how to wire up our 148 radios to the kit comfortably. The tactical training was a lot of fun and my 12 person team grew pretty close in a few months. Don’t let your lack of knowledge deter you, the training is to teach you. I would recommend SFAB to anyone, it was an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
