From the article: "where buyers can tap up to 48 ounces every 15 minutes". Uhm... even as someone who really likes beer, that's a LOT of beer. You're talking 16 beers/hour. Can't see how that could POSSIBLY go wrong...

I enjoy beer as much as the next person but I just feel like this could end up like Friday nights at the fights. I've seen fans get out of control with the way things are now and I feel like this self tap may just escalate things. But who know maybe I'll be wrong, hopefully I am and this works out well.

If they ever put this into operation at Fenway during a Yankees series, they'd close down Rhode Island for a week due to the fallout from the 2nd and 3rd order effects.

My main concern is that people will overserve themselves. Granted, this would be the minority of folks; most, I believe, would be responsible and not get too drunk. But what happens when someone has had 10 beers and they should be cut off, because they are acting disruptively and disrespectfully? That is the benefit of a human bartender.

I like the concept but I think there are flaws like what happens if you lose your vending card and is their an expiration on the card.
