Even though the claims number have gone through the roof, the sooner you re-file the betterResponse by MSgt Dominique Derr made Jun 29 at 2023 11:28 AM2023-06-29T11:28:52-04:002023-06-29T11:28:52-04:00CSM Darieus ZaGara8349412<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Always try. They are doing a thorough screening at this point, your GI will have to tie directly to burn pits or very similar.Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Jun 29 at 2023 12:21 PM2023-06-29T12:21:31-04:002023-06-29T12:21:31-04:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member8349705<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />Try contacting a VSO (Veterans Services Officer) from the VFW, DAV etc to assist you if you haven’t already tried them. They know the system quite well and may be helpful. Good luck.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 29 at 2023 3:48 PM2023-06-29T15:48:08-04:002023-06-29T15:48:08-04:00CW3 Kevin Storm8349909<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Do you already have a disability with the VA? If you answer yes, do not refile a new claim. Go to the nearest VA Vet Center, the counselors there are trained to reopen an existing file (one that you got your rating of X%) and file it against that one. They are basically adding on. The advantage is that it will go faster than an creating a new one. Which has to be done from scratch.Response by CW3 Kevin Storm made Jun 29 at 2023 5:09 PM2023-06-29T17:09:31-04:002023-06-29T17:09:31-04:00SPC David C.8350223<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's mentally exhausting, but yes. You need to be prepared for the long fight since the VA counts on you giving up and walking away in frustration. DAV was useless for me. After nearly 5 years of bac and forth bullshit, I ended up having to go with a private legal firm. No shit, within two weeks had results. Look up the Deuterman Law Group. They are worth their weight in gold.Response by SPC David C. made Jun 29 at 2023 8:16 PM2023-06-29T20:16:15-04:002023-06-29T20:16:15-04:00PFC D Teaford8371078<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely! If you get denied again, find a VA approved lawyer to fight your case. They normally get 25-33% of you back pay as payment.Response by PFC D Teaford made Jul 14 at 2023 2:30 AM2023-07-14T02:30:18-04:002023-07-14T02:30:18-04:002023-06-29T09:53:01-04:00
