They have a lot of domestic policies we disagree with. And the US has a lot of domestic policies other countries disagree with. It's just the nature of sovereignty...they can pretty much do what they want, internally, as a sovereign nation. We can complain, or use the UN to complain, or implement sanctions (like we already do against Iran & N Korea), but in the end, they do what they want. Not the same as US states, which are not sovereign, and the federal government has tremendous power through federal tax dollars distribution (or not). The companies themselves typically won't send "offensive" people to another country. Why invite a problem? I'm waiting for the EEOC complaint or suit that a LGBT etc. was discriminated because by not being allowed to go, their promotion options were reduced. That's a real Pandora's Box if successful. The US already has a large "Ugly American" problem. It was tolerated when we were strong in our foreign policy. Now that we've been weak for 8 years, we are tolerated less and the welcome mat is being pulled back. I've seen the loss of respect in the Eurozone for some time as I go there every summer.
