Anything is better than the prison uniform I wore while serving at fleet commands luckily as a Corpsman spent most of my time with the FMF and did not have to wear the dungarees to often. I like the current uniform and feel the Navy has changed the uniform to often. I will say be retired I feel that should not share my feelings for the reason I do not have to wear and maintain a uniform any longer. Be happy to serve our great country and focus on the mission and the Navy will do as it has always done control the seas.

But it doesn't have any red-lead or zinc-chromate on it. I wore the dungarees when I was in. They were comfortable, durable, and easy to maintain. Navy should never have switched.

even if this was posted as a joke....I like it! Makes more sense than the grey and blue that is currently being worn. In 1993 I found that the coveralls used by BP gas stations made an excellent sea-going coverall! Haze grey with a bright green ribbon sewn on! Unfortunately my Master Chief didn't agree! I was teaching at our PR "A" School at the time!

Go back to the times when sailors were made of steel and their ships of wood. The bell bottom dungaree trousers and chambray shirt was the best working uniform the Navy ever had. They were light and cool to wear, they stayed sharp throughout the day and they had longevity as far as how long it took to wear out. During my tenure in the Navy, we had enlisted uniforms change from the wool bell bottom 13 button trousers with the crackerjack jumper and neckerchief to the double breasted suit with white shirt and tie and chief style hat. Then the dungaree uniform went away and we had supposedly fire retardant jumpers with trousers made of a different color. They were made of some kind of materiel that was hot to work in and you could never keep the neat. Then we went back to the Original cracker jack uniform. I still don't know the reason for the camo uniform aboard ships

The Coast Guard has a proven uniform for sea going purposes for all intentional purposes they ae dickies would make an outstanding uniform the actual brand dickies cheaper to buy sizes fit female uniforms as dickies has been making uniforms for 50 years for others. Had a Torpedo Chief that wore them underway dont ask Submariners do whatever
