RPx2014 was in Raleigh, NC. It was a really well done inaugural event. From beginning to end the speakers were relevant, thoughtful and inspiring. RPx2015 will be better!!

I'll have to vote for DC as it is near to home, although something tells me that the NCR may be a somewhat unpopular vote! lol : ) It looks like the event went well, really wish we could've been there this year; we did get to tune in to parts of the conference this year, great panel discussions! We're definitely looking forward to seeing what's next, and hope that everyone had a great time!

Indianapolis was suggested and that has merit. Its fairly central in the country and can be a fairly equal travel distance for many.

On the other hand, keeping it near major installations (such as this year being about 70 miles from Fort Bragg) is a great way to ensure higher participation.

I am partial to the DC, because I live there but also I think by having the event in DC (DC area) it gives access to political figures and organizations and there is a ton of stuff to do in the area at night or before and after the conference

I'd be interested to see the breakdown of where everyone came from. Easier for east coasters to get there. Depends on the objective of RP. Gain more personnel on the site or get the most people on the site already to go. Two ways to do it. Locate it in a centralized area around multiple bases. The Northwest has that (McChord Air Field, Fort Lewis, Whidbey Island Naval air Station, Bangor Submarine Base, Everett Naval Ship Yards, Bremerton Naval Station, Coast Guard), but so do some other places. Or go center of the country.

I have to agree with many others on the midwest. It is centrally located and easier to get to from around the country. I think Dallas would be a great venue since Hood is nearby, and there are several other installations within a day's drive. I will admit I am biased for Dallas since I am staying in the Hood area. Regardless, it is a good pick. My second pick would be Kansas City area especially Overland Park which has a great convention center.

NYC is really not classified as part of the North East. There are other venues up here in New England besides Boston as well. Especially for those that know Boston to well for transportation.

If its held in CT, the Coast Guard Academy and the New London Sub Base are there. Also, on an added note. Almost every notable military significant site is within driving range of all areas, including from Boston. Not just the USS Constitution. And by driving distance, I mean 1 to 2 hrs.

I'm a fan of rotating the location geographically each year so it's not always in the same general vicinity. This gives more people an opportunity to go, may make the travel more affordable for those who were unable to attend a previous year, and gives us all an opportunity to visit another location. I'm all for checking U.S. cities of my bucket list!

I would suggest Las Vegas, NV or Orlando, FL. The main reason would be that they each have low hotel cost averages, cheap flights from around the country, and provide ample entertainment for attendees and families. There are also significant military populations driving distance from each.

No matter where it is next year, you need to get your butt to it! For those of you who didn't make it this year, you have no idea what you missed. What you saw on live stream does not translate to what was really happening at this event. You have 1 year to save your money for wherever it is. If you don't go, it's because you hate Freedom and Liberty.
I had a great time at this event and it far exceeded my expectations. Great job by the RP Staff on pulling this off.

I am all for keeping it on the east coast. You have to admit that the east coast has the lion's share of military installations. Indianapolis hosts tons of conventions and is known as "America's Crossroads" due to its central location. They are set up to handle large groups and the city is really cool to explore. Having said all of that, maybe a nice vacation destination is in order. Maybe Orlando? Tunica, MS? Myrtle Beach, SC? That way, we can make a weekend of it. San Diego is also an option, but would be a trek for most of us I think. For those of you who couldn't come, the conference was great and the panel discussions were very interesting. Maybe next year they will get more corporate participation. It's not just transitioning members that are looking for jobs, vets and retirees look for jobs too!

It would be easy for me to say "East Coast" since I live out here, but the reality is, having it on the Midwest gives more people the opportunity to attend from a shorter distance.
That being said, thank you for this year's conference!! I am very glad I attended and I thought all of the presentations were excellent!
The conference gave me more perspective into what RallyPoint is and I'm glad I joined. I look forward to next year's conference where ever it is.

I would go in a heartbeat. I just hope it is after I get back from Jordan. I hate to say it but it only makes sense to host it on the East Coast as that is the area with the largest concentration of military bases. And NC does have the best National Guard in the Nation.

My vote would be for Denver. There are 6 bases in Colorado covering all of the branches. The airport is very easy to book flights from anywhere in the country.

So, I feel like Chicago would be a great a choice because it's an incredible city and it is very close to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, as well as Naval Service Training Command Great Lakes and it would be an excellent way to encourage brand new members of the Armed Forces (albeit specifically Navy) to network with other members of the Armed Forces.

Also Chicago is a great city to have a convention in and is a very vibrant city. I mean, I lived in Chicago for 10 years after my dad retired from the Navy, but I promise I'm not biased!

And, for the record, I wouldn't consider Dallas as part of the Midwest.

I would say San Diego, Vegas or Orlando. Cheap airports, attractive locations...etc. I don't think the actual proximity to a base plays a major role, does it? People WILL come out to Disney or Vegas if the events are hosted there.
