That was for a paid O5 billet. Can be tough as a reserve officer in the Coast Guard. I had another boss, O6, who flew from Boston to Miami for drill. Higher you to, less slots that are available near your residence. When I pinned CPT I was going about 160 miles to drill, but I'd already been making that commute at a 1LT. I'm expecting that if I make the next rank, I will have to break down and fly.
