I was told I have to wait until I get my orders and I have to show up to every drill until that happens. Is this true?Reserve soldier ETS on 2/10/18. Do I still show up afterwards?2018-02-06T12:33:22-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3328717<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My 8 years will be officially up on February 10th and I will be done. I would contact your BN S1 to see if they are tracking your discharge orders. Or, you could also pay a visit to your reserve center RPAC and see if they have orders. If they do, and the date is effective on 10 Feb, then NO you will not need to show up to the next BTA........unless that date falls on a BTA weekend, then yes show up.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 6 at 2018 12:45 PM2018-02-06T12:45:53-05:002018-02-06T12:45:53-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member3328889<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>NO, you should not.<br />If you do, they will have to do an annodated enlistment to reflect why you were paid beyond ETS.<br />They should code you in the pay book as Z, pending loss, until orders are cut.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 6 at 2018 1:27 PM2018-02-06T13:27:27-05:002018-02-06T13:27:27-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3332605<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The question is really have you signed a DA 4187 for ETS? If not you will not have ETS orders. And don't contact your BN S1 before you contact your company level that's just bad form.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 7 at 2018 3:57 PM2018-02-07T15:57:51-05:002018-02-07T15:57:51-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member3608255<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have never heard of needing orders before the terms of your enlistment will be honored. After your ETS, you are a civilian. Period. As a civilian, the military cannot legitimately pay you as a SM. If anyone knows different, cite the law please. If they do pay you, then they are inappropriately using the purpose of appropriation (to pay Soldiers, which you are not), which makes it an Anti-Deficiency Act (ADA) violation. Anyone with knowledge must immediately report it to DA, who then tells the President. And, also under the ADA, if your command (while they are on duty) told you to show up without getting paid and you did, then they are violating 31 U.S.C. § 1342 (a class E felony) by having you perform voluntary services for the military without pay.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 7 at 2018 4:43 PM2018-05-07T16:43:54-04:002018-05-07T16:43:54-04:00SGM Bill Frazer3612718<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>YesResponse by SGM Bill Frazer made May 9 at 2018 9:50 AM2018-05-09T09:50:31-04:002018-05-09T09:50:31-04:002018-02-06T12:33:22-05:00
