When reclassifying, when will I receive a new assignment? Will it be during AIT or after I return to my current duty station?

Recently reclassed, have my class report date and DD 1610. I'm TDY en route for AIT and TDY in return when finished with AIT when will I recieve a new assignment, will it be at AIT or when I return to my current duty station?

TDY En Route infers that you will go to your follow on assignment upon completion of AIT.

If you are TDY and return that means that the PSB at your assigned home duty station (the one you are returning to after AIT) has control over your admin processing. The base where you are attending AIT in TDY status normally cannot cut assignment instructions for soldiers who are not assigned to them; they can cut your orders to return you back to your home station though. So, this is a question you should ask your Bde S1 and/or the PSB at your home duty station so that you’ll avoid any confusion or misperception of what to expect.
