Ready to become a civilian in florida, anyone have any advice on how to work a job and college life together??

just curious if anyone has ay advice on this. im terrified ive never really been apart of the outside world. the Army is all i know.

i am without a family with no one to support a single soldier living in the barracks about to be going to college for electrical engineering. so far plan is to live with my father until i have a job and then try to move out into a small apartment. my only caveat is my girlfriend, who i am trying to bring back to florida with me.

Good luck with the degree. Remember, there are resources out there that your college can help you. The school you will be attending will have people that are better to ask that question to as they will know more programs that help and assist Soldiers transitioning. Keep your head up and your feet moving.

Follow MSG Cunningham's guidance. It is a process. You have many issues that are somewhat interdependent upon each other but none-the-less are loosely prioritized. Keep sight of the big picture & accomplish things one step at a time. The road you've decided to travel will effect how the rest of your life plays out so be patient, give yourself permission to take the time to think things through. Don't beat yourself up over small mistakes, correct them and move on.

Do your best to be proactive and stay ahead of the tasks before you. Does all of this sound like a tall order, yes. Can you accomplish it, yes. Keep your focus and your bearing. Use any resources available to you to your advantage.

All this just means - keep a positive attitude & your eyes on the target. You're willing to put in the hard work so you will reach your goal in your time, on your terms. Good luck on your endeavor!
