RallyPoint Members Start an Indiegogo, to Raise $150,000, to Support Another Indiegogo (to Produce the Range 15 Movie)?

I know the title of this post sounds complicated, but hear me out.
Today, the Army Times published THIS story:
http://www.armytimes.com/story/entertainment/2015/05/12/tim-kennedy-dakota-meyer/27171151/
For those who would like a quick summary:
You may have heard of the guys from 'Ranger Up' and 'Article 15' (and you may have even worn some of the clothing they produce).
They are joining forces to create a movie, that they are calling "Range 15".
To make this a reality, though, they need funds.
ENTER INDIEGOGO.
Indiegogo is essentially an online fundraising platform, where just about anyone can start a campaign to raise funds for a project/endeavor.
Here is their Indiegogo page:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/range-15-movie
....Now....My idea....
On the right hand side of the page are a list of what are called "Perks" -- these are essentially items, or combination of items/packages, that are given to contributors for contributing a certain threshold of monetary contribution.
.....The MAX "perk" currently offered is $150,000....so, if someone, or some group, contributes $150,000, they get that perk....
I propose we do the following:
1) Start an Indiegogo, with the intent to raise enough money to contribute the $150,000, to qualify for the MAX 'perk'.
2) Pick someone from the RallyPoint community to essentially be the selected RallyPoint Representative/Ambassador for this 'perk'.....This could be a neat way to incentivize the RallyPoint community, or, I'm thinking, it might be a cool thing for officers/SNCO to do this, so as to provide an awesome once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a deserving troop....
3) Heck...Maybe Ranger Up/Article 15 would even let our ambassador wear a "RallyPoint" T-Shirt, in the film?....wouldn't hurt to ask....
Thoughts?
Who would contribute if I started the Indiegogo campaign?
****ALL FUNDS RAISED WOULD GO 100% TOWARDS THIS. (I may even just be able to transfer the campaign, to them, once the threshold has been achieved...)
HERE IS THE PERK DESCRIPTION:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/range-15-movie/contributions/new/#/contribute?perk_amt=150000&perk_id=2853317
(I did censor some of the naughty words here, in the event that those words somehow violate a RallyPoint rule, or something like that)
$150,000 USD
Big XXXX Playa Bilzerian Role Change Perk
Have so much money lying around that you literally don't give a XXXX about anything or anyone? Use that money for good and join us. We'll all be on the verge of death, when BOOM, in comes YOU riding a white XXXXing horse and wielding a golden mini-gun. You save the day, deliver a poignant monologue, the horse kicks its legs high in the air, and you ride off, like the big XXXX playa that you are. Also, instead of Executive Producer, your credit will literally be "Big Dick Playa".

Nice, SGM.
It's nice to wake up to some validation that I wasn't the ONLY one on RallyPoint who thought this could be an epic movie.
Sometimes military humor can come off cheesy, but, I thought that preview was some of the funniest stuff I've heard in a long time.
"....and, I have a check for $250,000...and $1...." :)

I have been following those clowns since they started Rangerup and Article 15. Some say they shine a "bad light" on veterans but to me they are still just a bunch of joes, flying through life at 100 mph, preaching the veteran gospel, fighting for America, making some money and having a good time. I fully support them and proudly wear a lot of their t-shirts.
Looking forward to the flick, hope it is a full two hour FREEDOM BLACKOUT!!!

They are bringing on Marcus Luttrell, Author of Lone Survivor, and Navy Seal. So they are lifting the $325,000 cap to raise $500,000 to bring on Marcus Luttrell and other US Navy SEALS.
I hope that they also bring on people like Kyle Carpenter, Salvatore Giunta, Steve Reichert, James Yeager, and other special operations and defense contractors in to make the movie as real life and as accurate as possible.

I saw that, SPC (Join to see)....
Even though there was that $325,000 cap, I'm not sure that many are really grasping just how BIG this could be if we were able to rally our collective efforts, as RallyPointers...
It sounds like they will take as much money as they can raise...and the more money = the better the film.
I just thought it would be neat for RallyPoint members to start an Indigogo in order to try to raise enough to qualify for the highest PERK (from what I can see, it has yet to be purchased/claimed yet)...and, then put forward essentially a RallyPoint 'ambassador' to do that perk...
....it's not too late for us to do this....but, I've seen very little interest in this, so I haven't started an Indiegogo for us yet...
Anyone here interested?

I understand what you mean LT. I would love to be in that movie. Send a platoon size element of veterans from RallyPoint in for the $150,000 perk to save the cast of Range 15 from the zombies apocalypse. That way a whole bunch of us can be in this movie rather than just send one guy down to play that part.

Great points, SPC (Join to see)!
I'd have to run it by the guys at Ranger Up to see if they would be opposed to a GROUP of RallyPoint members, instead of just one person. I'm not sure how flexible they would be with that part of the script....may not be a problem at all OR, they may insist on it just being ONE person.
....if they insist on it being just one person....I would think it would be great to use this as something for RallyPoint to incentivize members to do something/take some specific actions, over time (whoever has the most influence points by a certain date?)....or, it could be given to a RallyPoint admin....

Just thinking out loud here but...
I could speak to the guys at Ranger Up and see if there would be a way, if they insist on that perk just being ONE person, if a group of RallyPoint members could somehow be conveyed as a single entity for movie/theatrical purposes...
For example, in the last scene, a table with a single laptop gets rolled out.
Out of the laptop emerges a bunch of people with RallyPoint shirts.
Or, somehow, all of us become a single entity (think something like Power Rangers or Transformers or something like that).

No thanks ... doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in supporting.

Yes, I think you're right CPT (Join to see) ... in fact, so much so that I just reversed my down vote of SPC (Join to see)'s comment. Semper fi ...

If we can support this movie as a group of RallyPoint service members and veterans, we could probably get more appeal as an organization from being part of helping the film and maybe get a lot more veterans and service members on this app with more input on our pages which would allow us to even have more cohesion, understanding and outreach with our fellow brothers and sisters in arms.

That's commendable, GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad.
Honestly, if it were me, I'd just get rid of that 'thumbs-down' function altogether...but, that's up to the guys who actually run the site. It just always seems to foster more animosity than anything else.

SPC (Join to see) I still don't see why you would do a down vote on Gunny. It's great that you want to support the movie, but he has the right to say no thank you.
