RallyPoint Meetups - What areas would you like to see them?

So I'm sure you may have seen either on here or on Facebook that RallyPoint will be hosting a get together in Washington DC on Oct 13th. For those of us that are able to make it, it promises to be a great event and I'm excited to see as many of you there as I can. SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" is saying he'll be there so you know shenanigans will be afoot.

Anyways, it got me thinking about hosting ones in other cities such as, yes you guess it, Pittsburgh, PA. I know Pittsburgh is only 4 hours away from DC but this region has a lot of great thing happening in it that the RallyPoint community could benefit from and I know that echos across the country.

So the question is this, looking at the region that you are around what major cities do you feel would be a great place to host these sort of meet ups? I know other members have had them either on a smaller scale in the past and these sort of events take a lot of resources to make successful so put some thought into it. I spoke with LTC Yinon Weiss and he's open to the idea of entertaining a few ideas as long as the traction is there to really make it worth everyone's time and effort. So what say you RallyPoint?

I think if ANY place should have one, it's North Carolina, we have more military here than pretty much any place you'll ever go. Probably in Fayetteville.

After I retire in December, I will be in Spokane WA!! ;-) That would be a good location for the Pacific NW... Malmstrom AFB is 6 hours east, Fairchild AFB is IN Spokane, Ft Lewis/McCord is in the Seattle area (6 hours west)..... plus any Guard/Reserves in between!!

I would personally love to see a meet up in The Lone Star State! I haven't been a member of this community for long, but since I have been I haven't seen anything for good ole' Texas. I'm closer to Dallas/Fort Worth but if that isn't popular enough, Austin or somewhere in that area would be good.

San Antonio, Texas...but not during the months of June through September....cause it's too darn hot. lol There are tons of retired Military here.. and a WHOLE LOT of ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY...so everyone would feel right at home here...nearly every where you go...you'll get 10 to 15% discount for Military...and we have the most awesome VA hosptial...AUDIE L MURPHY...we have two Air Force bases....Randolph A.F.B. and Lackland A.F.B, an Army Base....Fort Sam Houston with the pride and joy of BAMC....the Army's grand hospital..oh, and another AFB Medina.....and three more Army bases close by.....there's Camp Bullis and Fort Hood...Camp; Stanley.....Martindale Army airfield Army base.....and then there is a NAVY base in Kingsville about an hour away......we have Kelly Field which was Air Force but is half Air Force half civilian now and Brooks Air Force base now called Brook city base......and we have Fiesta Texas and Sea World...and an awesome Downtown with our Famous Riverwalk filled with restaurants and bars....and so much shopping you'll be sure to go broke.....oh then there is the Nimitz museum in Fredricksburg Texas only about 45 minutes from here...a quaint little town famous for their German food and lots and lots and lots of peach trees.... lol Then there is the Alamo and Missions and Beautiful botanical gardens....It would be a great place to hold a RP get together and sight seeing tour.

Considering RallyPoint has such a diverse good of SMs in different stages of their careers, including retirees and veterans, it'd be very interesting to have one near Honolulu, Hawai'i! I'm currently stationed at Schofield Barracks and have seen members of every branch, component, and rank. And after visiting Pearl Harbor Memorial (a couple times!), I got the opportunity to speak with many retirees, some who served in during WWII!
