For one, even though I am the author, I would never say to close a thread. If it still gains comments than people still want to be heard. There are plenty of posts guarded by "politicians" who have an axe to grind, want to have their own way, and are IMPERVIOUS to logic or to any opinion that doesn't match their own. Arguing with such people is far worse than arguing with a pig. They will drag you down to their level of stupidity and beat you with experience.
