A Christian pundit has claimed that the military now embraces paedophilia and bestiality – because LGBT soldiers are now welcome.

The military repealed ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ in 2011, allowing gay, lesbian and bisexual soldiers to serve openly for the first time. Transgender people remained banned – but the Pentagon is currently finalizing proposals that would allow them to serve also.

However, right-wing Christian pundit David Barton claimed that due to the changes, paedophiles are welcome in the military.

Speaking to listed hate group the Family Research Council, he said: “There’s 82 official gender identities now and they all have equal status and protection here, so we’re talking paedophiles.

“If you’re a military member and you have an inclination for young children, you can’t be kicked out of the military for that anymore because that is your gender identity.

“If you are into having sex with animals, bestiality, that is one of the 82 gender identities, you cannot be kicked out for your lack of judgment and your very perverse taste on that.”

Republican Presidential wannabe Mike Huckabee recently claimed that allowing trans people in the military would turn it into a “social club”.

Speaking during the Presidential debate, he said: “Men are men, women are women. There’s a difference. The military should understand that.

“The military is not a social organization. The military is not a place where we try out experiments. The military is designed to kill people and break things.
“The purpose of the military is to train a fighting force to defend this country and to fight our battles.

“It’s not to fight the battles of sexual identity or orientation. It’s to fight the battles that threaten American sovereignty and American freedom.”

Um... I don't feel like this should be posted on the site.

First of all, very large difference between LGBT and the issues listed in the article.

This is pure hate and doesn't even deserve discussion.

Ok this is coming from Huckabee....has he done one second in uniform or is he another of those "I wish I could've but couldn't, but I have many friends who have served", and the other dude? Please. The military is one huge social experiment. Integration on all fronts, medicines, and countless other social experiments. There's so much more to the military than that BS "We're only good for breaking and killing sh*t". We're some of the most educated, dedicated, patriotic, hard working shammers the world will ever know, and shoulder most of the nations load with no backtalk and with proven results these two will never fathom.

Seem to remember seeing a (Milper, ALARACT, Etc.) awhile back saying that if you were ever convicted of a sex offense, you were basically gone, no questions asked. That seems to belie what is being said in this piece of......journalism......

If someone can do these things which I think are bad, why can't they do those things which I also believe to be bad. That's the type of simplistic thinking being employed here.

The answer is it's all about consent. A child can not consent, so a pedophile is a rapist. An animal can not consent, so someone who practices bestiality is being abusive. Two consenting men, three consenting women, or any other combination of consenting adults doing whatever floats their boat is thier business and not mine or the the business of the government. If Huckabee and Barton are unable or unwilling to understand the concept of consent, we should be worried about them.

paedophiles, its been in the military, had one back in 86 -87 went awol/deserted after invantory of equipment found journal and found this out reported to cid, its one thing to be gay/lesbion and another to be a preditor of young children, the right wing and left wing can say all they want, but when it concernes children stfu, these are the lowest kind of people out there

"It's to fight the battles that threaten... American freedom." Such as discrimination and prejudice based solely on a person's sexuality. I see foot in mouth disease is still alive and well.
And I agree with others' comments. Why is this posted on RP? This isn't Facebook, we're all professionals here, we don't need cans of worms opened just to cause squabbles and flame wars. Leave the sensationalism crap to civilian social media sites.
