I use desktops, servers and laptops all day but still prefer to hand jam my notes with pen in a notebook. Same thing with reading, I have to read (for enjoyment) a physical book, just can't do a Nook or Kindle.

Sad to say I'm lost without my iPhone. I can't remember a number, address or appointment without my portable brain. Always thought I would hate a Kindle for reading but actually enjoy it, especially with the built in illumination.

Personally it is about preference. I take notes on pad/paper when needed. Then I will use the laptop at work to do anything that requires administration via RDP. Now for hobby side I use my tablet, phone, desktop and laptop for maintaining all devices and helping clients remotely so I am always available and capable of fixing a users issue on the fly via TeamViewer.

My preference is desktop, which I use at home.

Work though is a laptop, which makes travel or working from home much easier. The downside, Of course, is that I can work at home :)

I personally use a tablet, my phone and pen/paper when doing maintenance/supervisory work.

I got my ARs, TMs, PAMs and IETM all installed, so it's 10x faster than finding an available army laptop...and if I do...waiting for it to open what I need before the task is done, lol.

use the desktop to create a nice little chart of everything - then while in the yard pen and pencil to scribble all over it - then use the desktop to re-create the chart - repeat
