Plus if you continually fund organizations of hatred, they will eventually turn around and bite you in the ass!Response by SFC William Swartz Jr made Apr 8 at 2014 10:49 AM2014-04-08T10:49:53-04:002014-04-08T10:49:53-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member98953

I find this interesting. However, I do not see how you can make the distinction. In Islam, there is no separation of politics and religion. What is more interesting is that Assad is an Alawite, an offshoot of Shia. Shi'ites tend to put more focus on this blending (Look at Iran). From the very beginning Islam was never just a religion- it was a political movement. This can be seen through the unification under Muhammad, through the Caliphs, and through their empire. Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 11 at 2014 12:17 AM2014-04-11T00:17:14-04:002014-04-11T00:17:14-04:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member131488

Yes but I do not believe the rhetoric as often it is way different than the actions of those extremists.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 21 at 2014 1:49 AM2014-05-21T01:49:43-04:002014-05-21T01:49:43-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member183282

I'm not so sure we can make that definitive of a statement yet. The Islamic Republic of Iran is still around, Saudi Arabia is still under the control of an Islamic minority, and overall the religious leanings of the Arab world have a huge impact on their politics.

So I think that failure is too strong a word. Perhaps it needs time to be institutionalized in order to be resilient enough of a political system to withstand the sway of popular opinion?Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 21 at 2014 7:10 PM2014-07-21T19:10:13-04:002014-07-21T19:10:13-04:00SPC Daniel Cahill502840

Interesting perspective from a non-Muslim viewpoint......

Bill Warner - A Taste of Islam

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjBDDC4wVxk
