PE Trump's statements on immigration boil down to enforce existing law and secure the border. What's the possible objection to this?

I fail to see how those who think it's fine to violate Federal law with sanctuary cities are aghast at enforcement of Federal immigration law. What's the legal and moral objection to the US having sovereign borders and enforcing the laws on the books?

The objection is that we have not been enforcing the law and now we are going to be enforcing the law. I don't see a problem enforcing the law we need to speed up the processing time with immigration paperwork. I don't see the problem enforcing the law.

MSgt Cater, their objection IMHO is based on a philosophy to fundamentally destroy our country. Anyone who perceives this in a different way is obviating the past 8 years and has, unfortunately, been fed a very strong brand of kool aid.

The thing I object to is elected officials that fail to obey the laws after they took an oath to uphold and support the United States Constitution and uphold and obey those laws. Instead they aid violators of those laws and harbor people that broke those laws. Hard to believe an elected official can consistently disobey and actually interfere with the enforcement of these laws and nothing is done about it !

DEFUND with all haste, every program and every single tax dollar from the Federal Government to each and every "Sanctuary City". SPEED UP the enforcement of the law. If I KNOW that you can get a dozen illegals at Home Depot at 0600 in the morning ICE can too. ICE can gather them up, and send them home. Chip their asses and if they come back again, chains on the legs and prison at hard labor.
To Stop Illegal Immigration do the following:
1) Fine Employers $10,000.00 PER Illegal worker on the first offense and seize their business and jail them on the second offense.
2) Fine those that rent them homes $10,000.00 for the first offense and seize the home or apartment and imprison the owner on the second offense.
3) Do not allow them to purchase or register an automobile. Fine the individual or dealership $10,000.00 for the first offense of selling a car to an illegal.

I learned in Field Sanitation if you deny habitat and sustenance, any infestation will leave.
If we deny Work, Homes and transportation, Illegals will leave and then apply for admission the legal and proper way.

Defunding sanctuary cities is perfect. Those who don't agree with federal laws should not use other people's tax dollars to support their actions. The city residents will vote by leaving town or staying and suffer the consequences. Who knows, maybe they thrive and get to prove me wrong. We will see.

My mother was a legal immigrant from Mexico. I have a different perspective than many "latinos". Allowing illegal immigration is exposing Mexicans and Central Americans to the worst aspect of human trafficking. Whether they know it or not, the free-borders crowd and sanctuary cities advocates and the "dreamers" are in league with the "coyotes" who use the lure to enslave women and children as illicit sex trade workers, drug mules, and wage slaves. JUST STOP IT.

OK I understand building the wall but I think he is missing the other track which is establishing criteria for trade with Mexico to include that Mexico raises it's living standards each year in a goal to achieve parity with the United States. Otherwise the wall is just a band aid that long term will not be all that effective.

As for sanctuary cities........throw the book at them OR start allowing bus tickets to be issued to them via other cities that follow the law and lets start deporting the illegals in the rest of the country to the Sanctuary Cities and see how really committed they are to being a real Sanctuary.....my guess the latter action would collapse the political will in short order.

The legal objection to this is because we've been very lax regarding enforcing our own border laws. The moral objection to this is because since we haven't been enforcing our laws, people have come over and "planted roots".

Personally I don't understand what the complaint is. Just because you don't get caught for a crime the moment you commit it, doesn't mean you are home free. These people committed crimes and should be handled appropriately.

Yes we definitely need to fix our immigration system, but allowing illegals to run free is not the way to do it.
