Go for Pathfinder!!! Go for Pathfinder!!! Did I say...Go for Pathfinder!!! You can try and get Airborne, but that will take an act of Congress to get because Airborne slots are hard to come by unless you're in GSC or you got it through re-enlistment. You need to be in a F7 position, which is usually reserved for PSG, PL's and those in a Pathfinder Company. Good luck. You got selected by your battalion to attend the pre-ranger course. If you were a stud, and E4 or above with an 11 series MOS, and met all the requirements, getting into a pre-Ranger slot was not hard at all. Pass that and it was on to Ranger school within the next 6 months. Airborne or Pathfinder was pretty much impossible. Not sure if they still do a division pre-Ranger or not but I am sure somebody knows. Although there was a PFC from Air Traffic when I went so it depends on your MOS. There are many schools in Campbell so my recommendation is to stand out and maybe you can get the schools you'd like. Just know Pathfinder is one of the hardest schools I have attended, study , study, study and good luck Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 16 at 2016 11:12 PM 2016-03-16T23:12:39-04:00 2016-03-16T23:12:39-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 1385987 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They dispanded the pathfinder company at campbell when the split up the 506th Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 17 at 2016 11:14 AM 2016-03-17T11:14:54-04:00 2016-03-17T11:14:54-04:00 SPC Tony Bucaro 1445673 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your best bet if you want Airborne would be to try and get into the 160th. That will help you to get slots in ABIC, Spies and Fries, Rappel Master, and may give you a better chance to get a Pathfinder slot. 160th soar is a great opportunity, and may also help you get school slots. There is a pre-Ranger course that operates out of the Air Assault School. If your goal is to get badges, I would rethink your motivation. If you desire to improve yourself and desire to train others to do the same, then go for it!
