Pay tribute to your first drum set! (What was your first set? Do you have any pictures?)

So this may be a picture of my second drum set, but definitely what I consider my first real drum set. this was a Ludwig classic from the 70's that I built up over 8 years. I loved this set and if I could speak to younger me I would convince him to keep it. What is weird is that I remember wanting to make the biggest set I could. As I get older now I feel like streamlining my set. What was your first set? Any pictures?

I only finally got my drum set a couple years ago, and I do not have a pic yet. Right now, it is packed up because my daughter is visiting and using my drum room. I will post a pic after she goes back home and I can set it up again. I was fortunate that my drum coach was Billy Brehony from The Bloodhound Gang, and I shall be going back to him later this year to continue to improve my technique.

Me and my then 8 month old with my Alesis DM10 electric set. He's 15 months old now and still loves my set!

I had a VERY cheap knock-off kit (JMA) that was held together with duct tape and vise grips heh...the second bass drum was possibly a Ludwig, not sure. No pics that are accessible; if I come across any I will post em up.

Sometimes less is more. A good drummer can play on a basic set (single pedal Bass drum, floor Tom, upper Tom, Snare, Hi-hat, Ride and Crash Cymbals) and you would never know they weren't playing on a big set like this.
