SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5581462

I recently did a Mental Health Evaluation for recruiter school, and was not recommended because of my behavioral health past that was over 4 years ago and I haven’t had any issues since treatment. He told me he wasn’t supposed to recommend anyone with past suicidal thoughts but told me I could still appeal it and get a second opinion l(which I’m doing anyway). Does anyone know if I could still get recommended, or is there just no one way for me to be recommended because of it? Past behavioral health issues stopping me from recruiting, but want to recruit. Can try again and get recommend or is it impossible? 2020-02-20T14:36:58-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5581462

I recently did a Mental Health Evaluation for recruiter school, and was not recommended because of my behavioral health past that was over 4 years ago and I haven’t had any issues since treatment. A different kind of tough than you are used to. Back stabbing, lying, unrealistic expectations.
I had the misfortune of filling in as a sub-station NCOIC. The leadership was toxic. They treated recruiters like disposable commodities.
A direct quote from the Station CO to the sub-station bosses regarding "canvassing recruiters" (3 year assignment): "You must drive them with reckless abandon. We can always get replacements."
If you have had mental health challenges in the past, being disqualified may be the best possible thing.
