Overwhelmed by the range of POTUS hopefuls for next year?

So my son came home from school today and, as he was telling me about his day, he was quite animated and actually excited about what he was learning through classroom discussion of social and political issues currently facing our nation. He is a senior at Harker Heights High School here in central Texas, quite close to my last duty station of Fort Hood.

His teacher introduced his class to the following as a means of really bringing out the discussion on a broad range of issues, complete with an evaluation of individual responses lined up against those of current presidential candidates. Further, the tool allows a broad range of filtering options to get a sense of the overall demographics on the issues presented.

I urge you all to take a long hard look, go through the survey-style tool, and be truthful with yourself on where you stand on the issues presented. You just might be surprised by who at least gives lip service to sharing your values on a variety of issues, and to what degree. I know I was.

The best candidate -by far- is Jim Webb.

Besides graduating from Annapolis, being first in his class of 243 lieutenants at the Basic School, being a platoon and company commander and winning a Navy Cross, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts in Viet Nam, he was a committee general counsel, congressional staffer, official in the Defense Department, SecNav and senator, he is a NY Times best selling author, has the screenwriting credit for "Rules of Engagement" and he even has a bleeping EMMY.

But the thing that is so awesome to me is that he resigned as SecNav in protest of what the SecDef asked him to do. It blew me away at the time. Who does that? The story is that the SecDef Carlucci asked him to misrepresent facts to the Congress. He laid it on Carlucci at the time. Awesome. Specifically he was asked to misrepresent the usefulness of a new class of Navy warships because the Reagan Administration wanted to slow the Defense build up.

Basically, he refused to lie to the Congress.

Senator Webb is exactly what we need.

Well as you mentioned it does value what lip service is paid for but I did find the results very interesting. At the very least it got me engaged and researching each of the candidates that popped up near the top more.

It rated several higher than I would have rated them, but is generally correct in the order in which I would rank them - although I would have moved Carson a bit higher on the list and Santorum a bit lower.

Fun little Quiz. It says my Politics are more In-Line with Bernie Sanders but I'm more of a Realist that is why I will continue to Campaign for Hillary.

I thought it was pretty accurate. My top 3 were Cruz, Paul, Carson... I would have put them in Carson, Paul, Cruz, but accurate nonetheless. I used the fill in an answer function too many times, and it comes up as you not agreeing with the candidate, which is what put Dr. Carson at the 3rd place spot instead of the 1st.

IT's waaaaay early to be concerned about this. After the first primaries, you will see numbers drop substantially and be able to make a more informed choice

According to this I side with Huckabee. I disagree with that result. It does make you think about the issues at hand.
