It's simply a matter of small groups making so much noise; spending so much money to advanced their agendas, and shouting down anybody who doesn't believe exactly what they do. Until the middle reasserts itself, we will continue to witness the colossal lack of civility; inability to compromise; failure to develop positive constructive solutions, and phenomenal selfishness that has risen during the last generation. These people don't represent the views of the vast majority of Americans. They speak for a small but vocal minority.</p><p> </p><p>My humble opinion.</p> CMC Robert Young Thu, 21 Nov 2013 18:58:15 -0500 2013-11-21T18:58:15-05:00 Response by CW2 Jonathan Kantor made Apr 11 at 2014 10:29 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/our-government-thoughts-on-current-disconnect-between-rep-and-dem?n=99733&urlhash=99733 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Here's a liberal perspective on the situation:<div><br></div><div>The parties have never really been in sync with each other but the current state is just plain awful.  The GOP-controlled House of Representatives have been playing a 'screw over the President and hope nobody is looking' stance while remaining completely intransigent and anti-anything the President proposes.  It's disgusting and costly to us, the taxpayers.  The 113th Congress is literally and factually the worst Congress in the history of the United States.  The Speaker of the House has publicly said that they would make President Obama a 1-term president and his office would be judged, not on the number of laws passed, but by the number of laws that are overturned.  Well, they failed on that count since they have tried 50+ times to repeal the Affordable Care Act and failed to do so every time.  The party of fiscal conservatives does a great job of wasting billions of dollars.  Makes me sick.  </div><div><br></div><div>The Republican party used to mean something.  Now it has been taken over by the fanatical right and the party has suffered since.  The Tea Party has ruined the Republican party.  I was a member for 12 years and left because of them.  As Robert Downey Jr. once said in a film, "You never go the full retard."  Sadly, that's what the party of Lincoln has done of late.</div><div><br></div><div>I find it hard to criticize the left.  I know the right has a lot to say about them, but I honestly don't agree.  Certainly, there are issues with both major political parties, but I am certainly biased towards the left.  Just being honest.</div> CW2 Jonathan Kantor Fri, 11 Apr 2014 22:29:22 -0400 2014-04-11T22:29:22-04:00 2013-11-21T17:22:21-05:00
