Ordnance NCOs, are there any aspiring Warrant Officer Candidates out there?

I'm currently an AIT instructor at Ft. Lee for Wheeled Vehicle Mechanics, and I have submitted a Warrant Officer Application for 915A (Automotive Maintenance Warrant Officer), I'm just curious to see if any other NCOs have decided to take this career path, and what was your motivating factor to do so?

I'd like to go 916A, if I am able to submit a packet when I get to that point. I have two MOS qualifications that feed into it, I personally like being a technical expert in our field, and the clout that Maintenance Techs have to make things happen in their organization, to further the maintenance programs.

SSG, Good luck to you on your packet. I just arrived at Lee to be an AIT PSG. I am considering putting in a packet but I cannot seem to make up my mind- head versus heart, if that makes sense. So why are you putting in your packet?

I've thought about it as well, I'm soon to make NCO and at my age I figured that's the way to go, I'm not really sure yet to be honest

At one time I wasn the fence about becoming a Warrent Officer, until I went to SLC and became discussed with the NCO Corp. I had seen it in the 101st but only thought it was an isolated problem, but it wasn't. while in SLC I seen a lot of " do as I say, not as I do"; along with throughing fellow peers under the bus for personal gain. That was the moment I knew I would stay and NCO and do my best to rid the NCO corp and army of NCO's and soldier with that mind set. Too often to I see good NCO's either through in the towel and get out or go Warrent. I do not knock anyone who wants to go warrent, but for me I'm gonna stay the NCO path and do my best to keep only the best ordnance soldier and get rid of the rest.

I'm here at Lee as well and as I seen in one of the comments, the NCO Corp has fallen to pieces. But my motivating factor was I could stay enlisted and continue babysitting for 10 more years or get selected and do my best at making a difference. I was selected and head to WOC in July. I am interested in becoming a Warrant Office, I just have a few more years till I can apply for the field I want to go into.
