Her and thousands of others are part of the culture that allowed women to be harassed, assaulted, raped and marginalized. They tried to improve their images by wearing black dresses to the Golden Globes last night and making catchy speeches. The Hollywood culture has been a cesspool for decades. It is now being revealed for those that were unwilling to accept it previously.

What history does she need to overcome?

If "her history" is this picture with Harvey Weinstein from 2014, then I would say she has nothing to overcome.

She is a great American success story and was at one point the "richest self-made woman in America." She is a fantastic businesswoman.

I probably wouldn't vote for her because her and I have differing political views, but she wouldn't be a terrible candidate.

Are you asking this question while being willfully ignorant of the checkered past of Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Bush? If the last few elections have taught us anything its that the public will lemming its way to whomever strings together words that appeal to them rather than look at each candidates past.

It would be interesting. Oprah is kinda squishy in my opinion. I don’t know how she would do. I know she would need to buy a ton of chap stick because her rear end will be chapped from the press kissing it. That being said, I do admire her. Oprah grew up poor, was molested as a child and overcame all of it to be a success. A true American success story.

It's very interesting to read all the comments by men on here. Only men, as a matter of fact. You talk about her race, her gender, her profession and her emotions. Her emotions. If only someone would have delved into Donnie's emotions before he took office, the comments would have more relevance. So let me offer this as a counter-question: If someone who has overcome racial discrimination, gender bias, crawled out of poverty to become one of the richest and most recognizable people in the world, and has spent many years in the spotlight of fame should run for President, would you vote for that person based on their achievements?

The only thing I can say is, what experience does she have as a political diplomat?

Then again, America did elect President Trump.

Well she wasn't won of the fake ass celebrities that said they were going to leave America if Trump won but then didn't. So she's got that going for her, I hear she does charity work, to be honest I don't really pay attention to celebrities and what they do. To me obsessing over celebrities is the same as having royalty and we said fuck that 200 some years ago. If she's good for the job then great, if not then she's not. Not like it matters when we have the same dirt bags in office election after election at the local and State level.

Fighting the wrong battle in my opinion.

Politics is a strange thing, history proves that some of the most unlikely people have managed to win elections and become the POTUS.

For the record I'm a conservative, but I don't play along party lines when it comes to right and wrong. I didn't care much for the 2016 primaries because my initial choice did not make it to the General Election. I've heard decent arguments about both HRC and DJT, and IMHO it's less about who's more squeaky clean, it's more about what policies, ideas and direction they intend to take when producing solutions to help this country regarding policy making.

I didn't expect the amount of support for both of those candidates as we experienced in 2016. Oprah has made billions selling books and through endorsements from airing her show. I consider her to be one of the most intelligent people on TV, hardly naive and ignorant, so it wouldn't surprise me that she knew about Harvey Weinstein's terrible habits but turned the other way.

Still, I anticipate a tremendous amount of support for Oprah because some people are willing to look the other way when it comes to certain things as long as they're supporting their favored choice. There are women who voted for Hillary simply because she was a woman and you can find instances where people openly admit that they voted for her because they felt it was time for a woman to be President without knowing or even caring about HRC's past. These same women and others, will likely vote for Oprah for the same reason, because she's a woman without knowing, caring or understanding what kind of policies she intends on pursuing. Some will vote for Oprah primarily because of her skin color but will resist admitting it. But that's how some people are, and there's lots of them.

The MSM has done an incredible job promoting the idea that we need to vote for who we think is squeaky clean and let's face it, no such human being exists. You can find dirt on anyone, you can find mistakes we all made in the past and bring it into the public eye. No political side is in a position to be virtue signaling.

I don't need a POTUS as a role model, I need a leader to lead this country, not be an idol of worship. Regarding the military, I can only hope that whoever becomes POTUS understands our mission and does the right thing when it comes to protecting every person in America, help us win battles that actually make sense for us to be involved in, and strongly enforces policies throughout the government where there's no multi-tiered justice system where only the people on the bottom are punished but the higher ups walk free.

Never going to happen. Most reasonable people will not stand by while others trash them and their legacy. The mud is already heading her way. I'm guessing that after a few days of photos (like the one you posted) and articles about how she's not that nice (most highly successful people have their share of "enemies"), and she'll say she's not interested in running for POTUS.
