2/504 PIR BROTHER. Had a friend Frank Enrique that was with 3rd batt. He was already there for JOTC.

Nope, I was in 2-9 7th ID at the time. Did not make it to Bragg and 2-325 till several years later, and 501st some after that.

I was with 1/508 at Fort Kobbe Panama and we were conducting live ambushes and recons around Howard AFB one year prior to the actual operation. I received my PCS orders six months early moving me to Fort Rucker, so I missed the actual operation.

I was with B Co 1-508th PIR at Fort Kobbe. I PCSed to Ft Bragg some years later to A Co 3/504th PIR.

I did not serve in the 3/504th. At the time that OJC occurred I was assigned to 1/325th and we were on block leave. What is interesting for me in relation to this question are the following items:

I had previously been assigned to the 2/508th PIR between my tours in Panama - This is the battalion that was reflagged to 3/504th.

During my first tour in Panama, I was assigned to the Airborne Company - part of the battalion that would eventually be reflagged as the 1/508th. That unit when stood up in Panama in the early 60's was the 3/508th.

OJC occurred just a few months after I PCS'd back to Bragg from my second tour in Panama, and I was later informed that I was almost called back from leave to be an augmentee to another battalion in Division, but this did not occur since I did not speak Spanish.

Any one remeber the truck driver that got a purple heart for punching the side of 5 ton and ended up on the cover of soldier magazine? She was transfered to E-Co 407th, DISCOM 82nd ABN. Right after that, she was none to popular with the rest of the troops.

I was a Combat Engineer (12B) in A Co., 307th Engineer Battalion. My Sapper Squad was attached to B/3-504.
