Right before my father entered the Navy during WWII, he played a half a season with the Roanoke Red Sox of the Piedmont League (B). Had he been called up (and the war, of course), he might well have played for Boston!<br />I lived in Cincinnati, so I also keep my eye on the Reds. I went to a number of opening day games there!<br /><br />I have no idea as to how good either team will fare this season!<br /><br />Here&#39;s a question for you. For many years, the first pitch was always given to Cincinnati as they&#39;re considered the oldest team in organized baseball. Whatever happened to that tradition? <br />
