They won't be ready for you, and you can't do much besides get contact information or maybe shake a hand or two.
You have a lot to worry about when you PCS. Take care of house and household, and worry about the unit when you arrive. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 12 Aug 2016 10:50:18 -0400 2016-08-12T10:50:18-04:00 Response by SSG Ed Mikus made Aug 12 at 2016 12:22 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/on-pcs-leave-is-it-a-bad-idea-to-go-to-your-company-to-figure-out-who-your-sponsor-is-if-you-haven-t-got-in-contact-with-them-yet?n=1800417&urlhash=1800417

I have done just that many times with mixed reviews. In most cases, i would recommend stay away. If they haven't thought enough to sponsor you, they don't make them think about you tell your there. I've never really needed one for my PCS's, as I typically do my own research on my own for housing, etc. If you don't need one, then don't bother. If you do, I'd reach out to the BDE S1. Might find yourself off leave and filling sandbags. SFC Joseph Weber Fri, 12 Aug 2016 21:06:28 -0400 2016-08-12T21:06:28-04:00 2016-08-12T10:46:51-04:00
