Bragg. It was known to be hostile back in the day, like Vietnam was. From what I understand, it is not as bad as it used to be, but the name just stuck. This was Blood Alley where whores and bad bars abounded, and fights/get rolled were common place. Hay Street was Bar city with 10-15 bars and a couple of sad eatery&#39;s. In 2000 the city closed down all the bars on Hay St and demolished Blood Alley, putting business, restaurants, etc. Now it is quite tame. Many soldiers who were heading to Vietnam left from and returned to Fort Bragg and Fayetteville.
