A suspect being sought by police for an Omaha shooting opened fire Wednesday on officers, prompting police to return gunfire in a shootout that left one officer and the suspect dead, Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said.

I have been watching this on my Facebook feed since yesterday. I have to wonder why she wasn't already on maternity leave? Her maternity leave was scheduled to begin today.

This is just a sad story all the way around, but I'm sure someone will say it was her fault because she was trying to serve a warrant on someone. SMH.

I live just across the river. This was on the news all day yesterday. I saw little if any reaction that could be considered defending the the act.
