All in color. (I would love to see a mock-up by SSG Scott Williams )
On the ACU's if you sew on your rank you have to sew on your name tape, etc. Why is it a different standard for the ASU's?
I know some people are gonna hate this idea, and tradition, and yada yada yada. But I know just a small piece of you never wants to pin on another freaking ribbon and stab your pinky finger again! Ok call me crazy. What do you think about this? Sew-on everything on your ASU's? Can you imagine having to pay to have your ribbons updated every time you got a new one? How about when you changed units and they have different awards. In addition every female uniform would look ridiculous. Awards would be sewn on strait but would look cockeyed and crooked when worn. No thank you! Except for things that don't change. Ribbon Combinations very so much you could never standardize it. This would only be feasible for a retiree or veteran. As well I think that having fresh ribbons, badges, etc. looks sharp. I can imagine that as your uniform is cleaned your sewn on items begin to fade, which would deter from the overall appearance. We did have an option to sew on ranks on our collars, but I felt that it would have been impractical and it should be the same way for ACUs. As much as I hate it and how tedious it is, I believe it shows one's pride in their uniform, achievements in their career, and awards they have earned. To place these pretty shiny things on this uniform takes patience, and care. If everything was sewn on, all of that gets taken away. I do believe they should be made in a way to where THEY DON'T FALL OFF ALL THE TIME!
