Why is it that if you were a platoon leader or platoon sergeant you are awarded a Bronze Star but joes and SGT /SSG are only awarded an Arcom? I'm aware this doesn't happen in every unit in the Army but I've spoken to a some jr. NCOs and joes and they all say about the same thing. I just want some thoughts on this from other Sr. enlisted and officer personnel if you've seen this happen, or why it happens. I always thought that the Bronze Star was awarded to Soldiers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Is this not the case? if it is, why is it being awarded like a lesser medal?Officers being awarded bronze star for deploying2014-03-06T14:51:37-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member70888<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How do you feel about Officers and Sr. NCO's being awarded the Bronze Star simply because they deployed.
