Off the wall idea….open up application process for a nation to become a state in the United States. https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/off-the-wall-idea-open-up-application-process-for-a-nation-to-become-a-state-in-the-united-states

The world is a mess. I think our Constitution stands out as an ideal that people have innate human rights and they should be governed by the rule of law, laws that protect those rights. I think the number of people who risks their lives to immigrate here speaks loudly that many people agree with our constitutional government. Why not open up the possibility to become a state, governed by your own elected officials and by our Constitution. I think it would solve the immigration crisis and be a positive step twords bringing human rights and democracy to a pretty messed up world. We would prob have to get our shit together as a nation but I bet a number of nations would jump on the possibility unless you think the world really does hate us.... Lots of generalizations here but why not?
I think people want life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and judging by how many risk everything to immigrate here why not allow them to attempt to change their home government to a democracy that adheres to the same principles laid out by our constitution? Otherwise, I'm good with the current 47 states, 3 republics, and 14 (or 15?) insulars. Democratic Republics are a outlandish concept that most of the rest of the world just doesn't understand --nor appreciate. That being said, let's sell the admission tickets to Utopia well-above market value.
