A recent study done with several of Americas largest sexual assault hotlines and centers has shown that trans women have shown no threat to the population in Americas restrooms. This is based entirely on fear and hate and not at all on actual events. I'm certain I'm standing on a bridge that is about to be overridden with trolls. Humorous because there have been transgendered people using the restrooms of the gender they identify with for who knows how long. And there have also been sexual predators going to great lengths to get their kicks for just as long. This isn't some new issue that magically appeared overnight, and yet people are acting like it is exactly that.

However, it is rather sad because it demonstrates the degradation of free and individual thought in our society. The only reason people are freaking out about it now is because the politicians and media are telling them too. On top of that, the people who are freaking out are allowing their fears to overwhelm their common sense and decency. My brother in law lives with me, and was when i met him my sister in law. I am for equality, I am also realistic and know that predators will use any advantage. I don't know how to manage this. In a perfect world I would say use the restroom that was made for the gender that that the person identifies with. But this is not a perfect world and one victim is to many, there would almost need to be a third restroom made in public areas for me to be comfortable because I feel that on victim is to many. There aren't any signs on the bathrooms in my house, there are unisex bathrooms in I don't know how many businesses catering to the public, and trans people have been using the bathroom labeled with their gender identity for as long as there have been labels and will continue to do so regardless of any laws enacted and no one will be any the wiser. Don't believe the hype.

Predators will also remain predators, and will subvert prevailing social conventions to satisfy their urges as they always have. A transgender is going to use the restroom they most identify with because that is the gender they are transitioning into. In my opinion, the issue I see is the legal loophole this will open for sexual predators. Yes, a sign isn't going to stop a sexual predator, but at least if they're not allowed in the same space, you can prosecute that without it turning into a he said/she said argument. Even more troubling is when a guy doesn't even have to be in there with a woman. He could just set up cameras in the stalls secretly and if he gets caught utter the magic words "I identify...". I could give a rat's ass what a person identifies as, but genetically and biologically speaking, if your DNA and plumbing says your a male, and likewise for a female, then that's what you are - end of discussion. Hell, I'd like to identify as a millionaire, but my checking account won't allow for that lifestyle. Lets get one more thing straight, allowance for guys to use the woman's bathroom (while wearing women's clothes) opens the door (literally) for sexual assault cases because no one knows what the f*ck bathroom to use!
