Now that the Army allows Muslim soldiers to have facial hair, Christian soldiers bring up this bible verse Leviticus 19:27. Your thoughts?

The Army allows anyone to request religious accommodation not just Muslims. These accommodations are made on an individual level, not for whole religions. There are hundreds of thousands of Muslims right now who shave daily and have not been granted exemptions, because they haven't asked. There is no blanket "this religion can do this" type rule.

BLUF: Certain people have exemptions because they got off their fourth point of contact, did the leg work, and got it approved. If you are jealous, to use the old saying, "don't hate the player, hate the game" get off your butt and request one for yourself. Don't hate on other people because you're too lazy to do what the Army regulations have allowed for decades...

Well Leviticus 19:27 didn't apply to "Christians" it was given to Israelites the descendants of Jacob (12 Tribes of Israel) - so I don't think it would work for "Christians" unless of course you are a descendant of the 12 Tribes.

Perhpas, gas masks work different these days.
You know what 1ST, now that I think about it, let every swinging ^^^^ wear facial hair if they want. Then, run gas mask drills in the gas chamber. Let me get my phone video ready first. Thank you.

I think it shows just how soft and PC the Army has come to allow so many different sects to dictate what "they" want to do. This should have never happened. When these people joined they knew the standards, if they didn't want to adhere to the standards, then don't join. I am glad I am retired.

Unless Christians belong to a sect that follows the OT non-moral laws (dietary/appearance/etc.), then this verse wouldn't apply to them. I do have an opinion on the Army making policy changes for such small percentages of the population whether it be for religious reasons or not. But I'll keep that to myself until one of the changes violates my Christian morals. Then I suppose I'll get reprimanded/separated/etc.
